Hello!

My name is Oliver Fulton, and I am a horticulturist and farmer. While the two sound different, I can explain. A few years ago, I began working at a 360º aeroponic tower farm in Denver, Colorado. I was enamored at how the perfect combination of conditions and effort could result in the most beautiful produce I had ever seen, sold directly to restaurants. A controlled-environment greenhouse on a rooftop in the middle of Denver is where I fell in love with cultivating and providing food in this fast-paced and precise manner. At this point, I knew I would always be a farmer.

I explored further into this passion by completing a Master of Science in horticulture at Colorado State University, focused on controlled environment agriculture. Particularly at the new CSU Spur campus, which serves as a global hub for agricultural knowledge and a free educational experience for the public. This is where I truly became a horticulturist, but I had an itch to learn more forms of farming and began working at a gourmet mushroom farm.

So, Fulton Farms is a continuation of doing what I love, but at home. I hope to not only better connect people with what’s on their plate, but also add a sense of place to local produce.

In its first phase, Fulton Farms will begin with gourmet mushrooms, of which the waste product will permit the eventual cultivation of basil and strawberries.
